Meet our YDHS Scholarship winners for 2024.
These scholarships are awarded to local Yarram Secondary College students who demonstrate consistent student achievement and wish to pursue further study within a health-related field.
Recipient Ella Farley (pictured centre left) is set to study psychology in 2025 and will use the scholarship to support her relocation to be closer to campus where she is studying. She’s demonstrated a strong record of academic achievement in VCE Psychology and looks forward to continuing to build on this knowledge in the years ahead during her tertiary studies.
“As soon as I began studying psychology it was a very natural fit and something I had a real interest in and I’m really looking forward to deepening my understanding during my degree,” she said.
Lilly Collins (pictured centre right) was also awarded a scholarship and will be progressing towards studying physiotherapy. She intends to use the scholarship to assist her in purchasing a laptop, textbooks and other essential equipment, as well as support her in travelling to and from Federation University’s Churchill campus.
Lilly has a strong interest in sports and fitness and completed her Level 1 Sports Trainer qualification at the Yarram Football Club last year.
“This really ignited a passion within me to pursue a career in physiotherapy as it seems like such a rewarding and interesting career choice given my interest in sport and fitness,” she said.
Congratulations Ella and Lilly, who are pictured with YDHS Director of Primary Healthcare Mitchell Schwenke and Deputy Board Chair Ian Jaggard-Hawkins.
We look forward to watching where your studies take you in the years ahead.
