At YDHS we offer a range of visiting specialist services
These services include optometry, audiology, cardiac echocardiogram, sleep specialists and psychology services and provide the specialist support you need close to home.
Optometry
Yarram Medical Centre has an optometrist visit the facility once every six weeks, providing comprehensive eye care to suit everyone’s needs.
The optometrist provides routine eye checks, vision testing and prescriptions for glasses.
Cardiac Echocardiogram
Cardiac Echocardiograms are offered every fortnight.
This important diagnostic tool provides an ultrasound of the heart to test the organ’s structure and functional capacity. It’s an essential part of the process of diagnosing and monitoring conditions like heart failure and valve disease.
Audiologist
Our audiologist is onsite every fortnight providing hearing checks for adults and children and providing advice regarding hearing aids.
Specialist referrals are also available.
Sleep study
Struggling to get a good night’s sleep?
YDHS’ sleeps specialists are here to help. They offer fortnightly testing for sleep apnoea and other sleep-related conditions, and provide equipment for use in the home to understand and improve sleep-related issues.
Royal Flying Doctor Service psychology services
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides counselling and mental health support care in a face-to-face setting.
Referrals to other specialists can be provided where this is required.
