How much do you know about Aboriginal culture?
Have you witnessed a Smoking Ceremony before?
Do you know why they’re an important part of the oldest, continuous living culture on earth?
This NAIDOC Week (7 – 14 July 2024), YDHS is providing an opportunity for you to learn a bit more about Aboriginal culture and customs.
We’re incredibly fortunate to have staff and participants from the Wulgunggo Ngalu Learning Place visiting YDHS on Tuesday 9 July 2024 to perform a Smoking Ceremony.
This ancient custom has been performed by Aboriginal people for centuries.
And this year, we’re inviting local members of the community to witness what is one of the oldest ceremonies practiced in the world today.
Details for this event are provided below.
Date: Tuesday 9 July 2024
Time: 11am
Location: YDHS Circular Driveway, 85 – 91 Commercial Road Yarram
We hope to see you there on the day.
