YDHS has officially opened the doors to its expanded dialysis service.
The health service now has six dialysis chairs meaning it’s able to offer more dialysis services to more people from Yarram and surrounding communities.
YDHS CEO Paul Head said the increased capacity for dialysis services will make a huge difference to the overall health and wellbeing of dialysis patients locally.
“For some patients, this will mean that they won’t have to travel longer distances to be able to access this critical service,” Mr Head said.
“It also allows family and friends that might require dialysis to be able to visit Yarram and surrounding communities knowing that they can access the care they need right here in Yarram at YDHS.”
Mr Head thanked the local community for generously contributing to the fundraising appeal to support the expansion of the dialysis service.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have benefitted from a number of generous donations from individuals and businesses within the local community that have made this expansion possible,” he said.
“On behalf of everyone at YDHS, I’d like to thank them for their generosity. This would not have been possible without their contributions.”
