New 4 Million Integrated Healthcare Centre for Yarram

The Yarram community will benefit from a grant secured by YDHS for $4million from the 2016-2017 Regional Health Infrastructure Fund to build an Integrated Healthcare Centre at 91 Commercial Road Yarram.

The design of the Centre will actively promote clinical collaboration and a multi-disciplinary team care approach. The Centre will provide contemporary clinical facilities for doctors and consolidate primary care and support, and ancillary services on the one site.

A focus of the new centre is the use of technology to improve access to specialist services for patients and to support doctors and other health care workers. Particular attention has been directed to create a facility that is environmentally sustainable and efficient.

I commend the work of our staff in the preparation of the submission and wish to thank those who supported us. It is anticipated the build with take 18 months and will include the demolition of the Yarram Medical Centre/Community Service building and a rebuild of the Centre on the existing site.

A communication plan will ensure patients, staff and the wider community are kept informed along the journey, about what to expect, when to expect any changes and how this may affect them. Consultation with the community and other stakeholders is planned.

This new facility will create a great work environment and should support YDHS’ long term plan for the recruitment and retention of doctors and other health staff, it will be a great place to work and in turn this will deliver long term value to the Yarram community.
