Monthly Board Bulletin – May 2018

  1. As part of the National Aged Care Accreditation regime operated by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA), St Elmo’s Nursing Home was subject to review on 8th and 9th of May 2018. The review found that St Elmo’s was compliant in all 44 Standards, furthermore no recommendations were received for improvement. This is an excellent result for St Elmo’s and YDHS and provides assurance to the Community that our nursing home is operating at a high level in accordance with the national standards.
  2. Mr Norman Reynolds was appointed by the Board to the YDHS Audit and Risk Committee in March 2018. Mr Reynolds attended his first Audit and Risk Committee meeting on Wednesday 16 May 2018 where the Committee considered an internal audit review on Payables and the Victorian Auditor General’s 2017 2018 Financial Audit Strategy.
  3. The Integrated HealthCare Centre is continuing to proceed towards construction as the detailed design has now been completed, the documentation required for tender is being developed which will lead to the building works being tendered in July 2018. Construction is expected to follow quickly following the awarding of the tender.
  4. Dr Mandaleson will no longer be providing his services in Yarram after 29 June 2018 but will continue to provide services in Sale. Yarram and District Health Service wishes to thank Dr Mandaleson for his contribution to the health of the Yarram and District Community over the last 17 years and wishes him all the best for the future.
