Consumer Partnership Group

Yarram and District Health Service is reinvigorating its Consumer Partnership Group and the Board encourages members of our community to engage with us in this initiative.  The group is a two-way forum for the exchange of information and ideas between community and the health service, all of which help to improve the health service to ensure the community gets the services needed and that you have a voice that we are committed to hearing; good, bad, we want you to help us build the best Health Service for our community.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday 14 April from 10-11am in the new Integrated Health Care Centre Boardroom.

In order to plan the event in a COVID safe way please send your RSVP to marinda.smith@ydhs.com.au by the 9th April 2021.

Emergency Generator Funding

We are delighted to inform our community that we have been successful in our funding application. Funding has been secured for the replacement of the emergency generator.  The new DE780 diesel generator has the capability to power YDHS (including IHCC) in the event of a power failure.

We are very proud of this successful funding that will ensure our continuity of services in the event of a power failure

National Architecture Awards

The Board are pleased to announce that consent has been given to the Architect of the IHCC to submit this project for judging in the Australian Institute of Architects National Architecture Awards. We believe that we have been short listed in the Regional Category.

Artwork by Wulgunggo Ngalu

YDHS were presented by artwork done by Wulgunggo Ngalu men on Closing the Gap day Thursday 18 March 2021.

The artwork depicts the Yarram township from above the main street together with aboriginal totems of significance to our indigenous community. There are also representations of how our First Nations people come together and hand down stories and inspire the generations coming after them.

YDHS feels incredibly proud of the journey we are on to be more culturally responsive and safe for all people. We encourage any community member who have needs that we are not currently meeting to let us know how we can improve. We are all here to serve our community. Please, we need you to help us do that. Get on board with us.

The artwork is on permanent display in the Executive administration area.  The Artwork will also be taken into the community for the Easter Art Work event in Yarram so as our community get to see the amazing work we are all doing in partnership with each other.
