We are pleased to announce that a women’s clinic has commenced at the Yarram Medical Centre.  These clinics will be conducted by an experienced sexual health nurse for cervical screenings, contraceptive advice and screening for sexually transmitted diseases.

Our youth program has received extended funding enabling YDHS to continue delivering youth projects in conjunction with the Yarram Secondary College.

This program recently delivered the successful ‘Inside Out’ art installation which was put on display around Yarram and curated by Secondary College students.

YDHS is planning to be present on Show Day in November with a stand undertaking Men’s Health Checks as well as a recruitment stand to promote employment opportunities at the Health Service.  We look forward to speaking with as many people as possible.

The Board acknowledged Health Service staff that made themselves available for redeployed to areas needing assistance when many staff were unable to travel to work due to flooding and also those staff who remained in contact with all our vulnerable clients during that time.

The Health Service was fortunate to have the opportunity to use their recently installed backup generator to restore power to the Health Service and the Board would like to recognise and thank the local farmer who supplied backup diesel for the generator when diesel was unable to be delivered via our normal supplier.
