Annual General Meeting

The Board Chair, Mr Shaun Braybrook welcomed approximately 30 attendees to the 2019 2020 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 24 February 202 via webinar.

The Chair recognised that it had been a year of significant change and challenges including a change in leadership, a cyberattack in 2019 and global pandemic in 2020.

Mr Braybrook spoke of the new Integrated Health Care Centre as being a stunning building both inside and out and designed to meet the needs of our patients, users and health service providers now and into the future.

He also acknowledged the high caliber of our Board members who provide a diverse mix of financial, legal, governance, clinical expertise, strategy, risk management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Two long serving Board members Ms Frankie McLennan (Board Chair for 4 years) and Dr Rosemary Irving were acknowledged together with Mr John Hirt who served as a community member on our Audit and Risk Committee.

Service Recognition:

This year YDHS recognised 13 staff members and 3 Board/Committee members as part of their annual service recognition presentations.  Awards are presented at 10 years, and then every 5 years of service that follows.  For the 2019 2020 reporting period the following people were recognised with a certificate and gift voucher:

10 years of service – Virginia Newnham, Leanne Hoffmann, Sandra Wolski and Kaylene McKenzie, Frankie MacLennan, Rosemary Irving and John Hirt

15 years of service – Patrina O’Neill, Charlie Bryant and Nicole Houchen

20 years of service – Debra Cooper, Susan Austin and Ann Holman

25 years of service – Helen Gardiner and Pamela McLachlan

35 years of service – Robert Thomas

Appointment of new Senior Staff:

YDHS welcomed two new staff members in February to their Senior Team.

Ms Jo Oxbrow was appointed to the role of Director of Clinical Services.  Jo has extensive clinical leadership experience in the private sector as Peri-operative Services Manager and national clinical procurement management experience.  The health service is very excited to have Jo onboard.

Ms Ruth Scaife was appointed to the role of Quality & Experience Manager and is a registered nurse who will bring extensive aged care quality experience to the role and will be responsible for looking after the organisational structure for quality across all YDHS services.
