YDHS SWITCHES ON POWER FROM THE SUN

YDHS has completed the installation of solar panels as part of its new 150Kw Solar Power system.

Following years of planning and subsequent funding by the State Government by means of an interest free loan the work to install the system has been undertaken by contractors with solar panels being installed.

Today YDHS CEO Colleen Boag formally turned on the system for the first time, connecting solar power to the organisation’s power supply.

Colleen said, “this is a fantastic moment for the organisation and something we have dreamt about for so long. Solar power and our other Energy Initiatives are expected to save us up to $240,000 annually. We are so pleased to be able to do something so tangible which is good for human health, the planet and our financial sustainability.”

“As far as we know our solar power system is the largest in the area and its installation has been a great success,” Colleen went on to say.
