Urgent Care Services at Yarram and District Health Service

YDHS has an urgent care department that’s available to provide treatment in the event of an emergency.

It’s important to note that our urgent care department is not the same as a typical hospital emergency department.

So what can you expect?

  • You will be seen by a registered nurse, however there are no doctors on site.
  • Our urgent care service is not a GP clinic and should only be utilised in the event of an emergency.
  • There’s no dispensing of medications and you may be transferred for specialist investigation or care at a larger hospital. Costs for any ambulance transfers from urgent care will be borne by the patient.

Access to our urgent care entrance is via Nicol Street in Yarram. See a map of YDHS for the entry location.

If medical attention is required for a non-urgent condition, patients are encouraged to contact our GP Clinic, the Yarram Medical Centre, during business hours on 03 5182 0222.

Expert health advice can also be sought 24 hours a day from a registered nurse via the Victorian Nurse-on-Call Service by ringing 1300 606 024.
