Royal Commission Submission

In November 2018 over 1,000 aged care providers in Victoria were invited to prepare a submission on incidents, complaints, any mandated reports and notifications that had occurred in their residential care facilities between 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2019. YDHS submitted a report to the Commission that included our quality and safety arrangements and our continuous quality improvements made over the last 5-years.

 CEO Resignation

Ms Colleen Boag submitted her resignation effective on or about July 2019 to take Long Service Leave and consider future opportunities. Colleen will continue to work while recruitment is undertaken and to oversee transition to the new CEO.

Dr Ali Azzam from King Street Clinic has been credentialed to provide VMO services to YDHS.

Board Director Recruitment

Board interviews were held in February 2019 and all documentation has been forwarded to the Department of Health and Human Services for a decision.

    • Deputy Chair Shaun Braybrook met with the new Victorian Health Minister in Melbourne
    • Chair Frankie MacLennan attended the Regional Board Chairs Forum in Traralgon
    • 4 Board Directors attended the DHHS Board Director Induction training to prepare them for their roles as a Director of a public entity.
